Skin Needling

Skin needling, also known as microneedling or collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a specialized device with fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin’s surface.

The micro-injuries created by the needles during skin needling stimulate the skin’s natural healing process. This process triggers the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins essential for maintaining the skin’s structure, elasticity, and youthful appearance.

Skin needling helps to improve the texture and tone of the skin by reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture. It can also help to smooth out rough skin and improve overall skin quality.

Skin needling can be effective in reducing the appearance of scars, including acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks. The micro-injuries created during the procedure promote the remodeling of scar tissue. Can also help with minimize the size of enlarged pores by stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity. This can result in tighter, firmer skin and a reduction in the visibility of pores as well as reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, including sunspots, age spots, and melasma. The controlled injury and subsequent healing process promote the turnover of pigmented skin cells, leading to a more even complexion

  • Protect Your Skin: Protect your skin from sun exposure following the skin needling treatment. Wear sunscreen with a high SPF and avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least a week after the procedure. Sunscreen helps prevent hyperpigmentation and ensures proper healing.

Avoid Harsh Products: Avoid using harsh skincare products, such as exfoliants or products containing alcohol or fragrance, for at least a week after the treatment. These products can irritate the skin and delay the healing process.

Moisturize: Keep your skin moisturized to help soothe any irritation or dryness that may occur after the skin needling treatment. Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer as needed to maintain the skin’s barrier function.

Cool Compresses: If you experience any discomfort or swelling after the skin needling treatment, you can apply cool compresses to the treated area to help reduce inflammation and soothe the skin.

Avoid Picking or Scratching: Resist the urge to pick or scratch at the treated area, as this can disrupt the healing process and increase the risk of infection or scarring.

Follow Post-Treatment Instructions: Your provider will give you specific post-treatment instructions to follow, including any recommended skincare products or medications. Be sure to follow these instructions carefully to optimize the results and minimize the risk of complications.

Attend Follow-Up Appointments: Depending on your treatment plan and goals, your provider may recommend scheduling follow-up appointments to monitor your progress and adjust the treatment as needed.
